About the Artist: Alessandro Ceccarelli became interested in photography while studying graphic design at the Art and Restoration Academy (Istituto per l'Arte e il Restauro) in Florence, Italy. At that time photography was just a hobby, but he still remembers the excitement of the days spent wandering around the city with my old 1963 Zenith, then back home in the evening working in the darkroom he had set up in my bedroom. By the time Alessandro got an internship as a graphic designer in a small studio in Florence, the passion for photography had grown considerably and besides the weekends spent shooting and developing, he immersed himself in the works of other photographers. Alessandro was influenced by photographers such as Josef Kudelka and Henri Cartier Bresson and started toying with the idea of using the camera as a notebookit became a means through which he could express himself and the world as he saw it. At this point the little time he could dedicate to photography was no longer enough and had to find a way to make a living out of it.

  • "This painting was inspired by a Tyrolean evening which was put on in the village square whilst on a two week holiday in Austria. A typical evening of Austrian folk dancing in traditional dress ending in a long ride through the nearby Forrest in a horse drawn carriage. I wanted to capture the gaiety and atmosphere of the evening and flavor of a traditional Tyrolean evening."~ Maria Bertolone Art is my passion and always will be, ever since an early age I was always drawing and painting, winning many school competitions for the best painting. To this day, I have no idea how many drawing books and rubbers, pencils etc. I managed to go through. I work mainly from my vast collection of personal photos I have taken over the many years, when I have been on vacation. I always have my camera at hand as it is my friend, and if I come across a certain scene or area of interest, I like, I take a photo. Then when I am at home, in my studio, I start working on it. I will always paint and produce art for as long as I possibly can. ~ Maria Bertolone This magnificent oil painting will accentuate any room in your home, especially your den or recreational room.
