About the Artist: Claire Vines was born in the South of France by the passionate Mediterranean Sea. When coming to this country as a young teenager, she did not speak a word of the English language, only French. So, as a young girl, Claire developed ways to communicate through creative expression, reflecting back onto canvas or paper my emotional internal thoughts. She is presently in private practice in the Mental Health profession where her concentration is on the Psychology of Art and the Art of Psychology as Self Expression and Emotional Freedom as The Path to Cultivating Emotional Wisdom.

- I started with a grid and I weaved my way in and out of it. I played with bold shapes in different colors while trying to keep the harmony and balance. The edges, I realized, are a physical reection of my emotions during the days of the lockdown, the streets were empty and the stress level was high. However I needed to escape to a happy place with colorful designs. In the paintings, tension and happiness coexist.
