About the Artist: A Venezuelan native, Joanne lived in South America and Europe before immigrating to the United States in 1980. Since her mother's roots are Spanish-Italian, she is fluent in Spanish. Her father's ancestors sailed from England in the 1890's to settle on the Caribbean island of Barbados, where they still live to this day. The influence of this mixed cultural background plays an integral role in Joanne's vibrant paintings. After receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art from TCU and after many years working in Graphic Design, Joanne has dedicated the last decade to her love of painting with Acrylics.
