About the Artist: Jesse Hashagen is a landscape painter focusing on realistic and impressionistic paintings of the world he sees around him. Either by photographing my environment or working Plein Air Jesse tries to capture the essence of the scene. He wants to put the viewer in his shoes and evoke an emotion from what we are all seeing. Painting is all about the feeling for Jesse i.e., what captures him in the moment, what it is that makes him stop and see the beauty in the landscape, and through color, composition, and the texture of brush strokes or Jesse's palette knife, he wants his viewers to feel that also. Jesse tries to see all the colors in everything around him. Not just green grass or blue sky, but the yellows and blues that make the grass vibrant, or the purples and reds that give the sky a mood. Jesse is inspired but the bright days just as he feels the Gray or Grey days, and he wants to capture these moods for his audience.
