About the Artist: Maria Papadopoulou-Rosenzweig is a scientist with an established career in research and teaching, but she has always had an interest and desire in art, and in particular drawing and painting. Maria has worked with all sorts of media (oil, watercolor, tempera, pastels, acrylics, collage, charcoal, pencils, computer graphic design) and she has dealt with a variety of themes (landscapes, still life, portraits, sketches etc.). Maria most enjoys drawing people and portraits of imaginary or real faces, and she views her work as human centered. Through Maria's art, she tries to approach and better understand the human nature and to capture the internal beauty of the humankind as it is expressed through various emotions.
