Barbara Pickering

Barbara Pickering is a full time artist living in Barbados. Her art is everyday living, bringing emotion to canvas. Barbara grew up in an artist's home and has been drawing and painting most of her life. She is a member of The Barbados Arts Council and has paintings in 4 galleries in that country, as well as in private collections in Canada, Barbados, United States, United Kingdom, Norway, China and Germany. Barbara’s art has won several international awards.

“Art allows communication without using language. It sparks emotion and ultimately whatever the viewer sees and feels becomes its reality. I believe a painting should leave the viewer in a state of wonderment, questioning. The painting should tell a story, but it is whatever the viewer imagines it to be. What happened before that moment in time, and why?”
