Alexis King Glandon

Alexis King-Glandon believes art is an escape from the chaos of reality and it is a privilege to invite her viewers into the calm serenity she tries to create. Alexis has won 1st place in watercolor at the Florida state fair art competition and placed in other art fairs in the professional division as well. She also was a finalist in Photographer's Forum Magazine 38th Annual Spring Competition where her work has been published in the hardback Best Photography of 2018.

“I use photography as a means of documenting my self-guided journey as an artist to discover immersive environments that help me to create a quiet visual haven from the loud chaos of the everyday. I often use black and white to isolate light and discover intricate detail. My subject choice comes from my desire to see the exact opposite of my every day surroundings in sunny Florida. I am specifically inspired by the Pacific Northwest. I hope to capture and convey the calm quiet using simple, un-cumbersome technology and minimal editing to explore its capabilities and keep the focus on celebrating life's easily missed details.
