About the Artist: Growing up, Jada's mother was the sense of her inspiration when it came to exploring her creativity. Every day would be a new project. Whether it was painting, drawing, or photoshoots, her mother always had a new idea up her sleeve! When she was 15 years old, she had her first taste in photography. Jada and her cousin went thrifting, purchased some vintage-inspired clothing, hopped on the bus, and made our way to Downtown Richmond, VA - which is where she is from. For Jada her cousin was her muse, and they had so much fun pretending to be her photographer that day! As Jada became older, she began to teach herself digital art and photo editing. However, in 2014 she attended George Mason University and pursued Information Technology. During the time she was there, she would always walk around the campus taking photos of anything that peeped her interest. That is when Jada began to build her portfolio. Jada eventually left George Mason once she realized that she didn't want to become an engineer. Jada struggled for a long time to build the courage to pursue art. She wondered. "What would my peers think? Would people like my work? Would my work be good enough?"Jada is happy to say that now, she is fully ready to embark on this journey. She is in the early stages of her art career, but have never felt so aligned and at peace with herself.
