Vivian Antonini has always been passionate about painting, and has tried many subjects and techniques using diverse materials. Her work has been described as 2D expressionist paintings with a diversity of materials incorporated into her creations, producing rhythm and dynamism in abstract art.
“As an artist, I am interested in creating works that call for the participation of the audience to the same extent as my involvement in it. My goal is to be able to create a controversial work of abstract art that engages the viewer in a discussion, a sense of belonging, and an experience that sparks conversations anywhere. It’s a back and forth play between me and the canvas, each move I make or material I use sets up a new move, the painting challenges me.”
“My paintings are open to interpretation by the viewer without a route. Viewers need to find a road and have fun looking at them. When I see a connection of the viewer with my paintings, whatever it is, representational, transcendental, fictional or real, that is what inspires me to continue doing what I do.”
