Tom Heflin has only one philosophy which is to constantly explore the creative act. He has no recipe. Tom does not paint the same subject repeatedly for a recognizable technique. Therefore, he embraces realism, surrealism and abstraction. This is frowned upon by the art establishment, but Tom would go mad if he had to paint the same way the rest of his life. Art for him is an adventure each time he approaches an easel.
