Painter

Rachel Treacher

Rachel Treacher is a artist from Great Britain and graduated in 1993 with a first class honours degree in Fine Art Painting and continued to exhibit whilst establishing her career as a secondary school art teacher and raising a family.

“I see my paintings as small icons dedicated to British flora and fauna. I am a child of the 1970's and learnt about the rich world around me immersed in the text and rich graphic illustrations of the Ladybird children's books. Each painting links image and word and I seek out to reconsider the small and often overlooked. If you appreciate the small things, your bigger world has a better chance of taking care of itself.”

“William Blake said that 'if you could see the world in a grain of sand and heaven in a wildflower’ that you could hold infinity in the palm of your hand.”
