Nonna Pidvalna

Painter

Nonna Pidvalna

Nonna Pidvalna bought her first canvas four years ago when she wanted to make some pictures using oil paints. She’d watched some painters on YouTube and learned their techniques. The time she spent painting was just a few hours in a month. One year ago, she met a wonderful contemporary artist, Oksana Sanson, and decided to go to her school. Noona took four different classes in Oksana Sanson’s Art School in France. Now she spends very few hours in a month without paintbrush or pallet knife.

“My philosophy is very simple - I wish to express myself, my vision, my feelings through the painting. Nevertheless, when I paint, I don't want to make just a photo-graphical copy of the object I see. My goal is to capture expression and mood that I have when I get inspired to make a painting. I look inside and ask myself what I wish to show, and, then, I transfer it on a canvas.”

“All that we see consist of colors - bright, soft, clear, muted, neutral, dark, luminous, cheerful, calm, contrast, imaginative, rosy. The colors have an impact on our minds. Sometimes, they change our lives. Through my paintings, I try to bring the correct colors into my surroundings, as well as, into the habitations of my customers. I believe that God created our world with so much color to provide us with its magnifique power. Picking different colors and matching them with one another is my favorite part in painting.”
