Melinda D Aloia

Melinda D’Aloia completed the Montserrat Study Abroad Program - Landscape Photography & Journal Writing at L'Academia di Belle Arte in Viterbo, Italy in 2004. In 2005, she graduated from Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, MA with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration. In 2007 Melinda received a Career Training Certificate in Digital Graphic Design at the New England Institute of Art in Brookline, MA. Her art career has since then included positions as Independent Contract Photographer for Captive Images (Northborough, MA), Coffee Pond Photography (West Newton, MA) and Bishop Photography (Boston, MA). Melinda worked as a Graphic Designer/Production Assistant at Plane Jane Graphic Design and Customized Art (Lexington, MA) and most recently as a Production Artist for Charles River Apparel (Medford, MA).

“I consider myself both an illustrator and fine artist with distinct emphasis on light, contrast and composition. As an illustrator, I have been critiqued to add concept to my work and avoid just making "pretty pictures." I have stuck by this idea, and feel my work brings to mind a mood, feeling or story. As a fine artist I have done the same, yet a lot of my "stories" are open to interpretation by the viewer. I feel that my style includes the best of both worlds.”
