Kerry Rawlinson

kerry rawlinson gravitated from sunny Zambian skies to solid Canadian soil, nurturing family and a career in Architectural design. There was no time for sleep, let-alone art! Fast-forward: she now follows Literature & Art’s Muses around the Okanagan valley, barefoot. Every aspect of visual art excites her, and she's now trying to make up for lost time, opening her eyes and exploring its possibilities like a kid in a candy store.

“My creative leaning is expressionistic, towards people and places; the examination of meanings; of the edges & intersects of culture, order/chaos; nature/construct; failure/success; what emerges from people, collectively, and what happens when we’ve disappeared. I photograph extensively, then dabble with various digital tools to develop and move each piece to where I think it’s leading. I never use Photoshop; and often enhance printed pieces with acrylics, inks, found text.”
