Shannon Johnson

Shannon Johnson retired after teaching for almost 30 years and began drawing and painting about five years ago. Shannon is a member of THE CREATIVE COLOR PLACE - for Color Pencil Artists and the Color Pencil Society of America.

“I admire so many different types of artists and so many different forms of art. In my view, art is something made by a person and that creation evokes a response of emotion in a person. Art for me is grounding and infinitely expressive at the same time. I can spend hours creating art, lose myself, and find myself in the same minute. I strive to reproduce an ordinary person, place, or object in a way that will evoke memories and joy in my compositions, most of which are taken from my home in Montana, not far from Glacier Park. I am passionate about photographing wildlife and elements of nature such as trees, flowers, mountains, lakes and rivers. I work from photos and take hundreds of photographs of real life daily. These are the moments I take pride in recreating for clients, family, and myself.”
