Michelle Page is a self-taught American artist living in Los Angeles, California. She creates oil and acrylic paintings of strong female characters. Her inspiration derives from nature, life experiences, and feminine beauty. Many of the subjects Shelly paints are women of traditional and untraditional beauty. Her paintings depict young girls and women grappling with issues of love and belonging and often have human hearts and galaxy motifs to signify these inner struggles. Shelly classifies her works as pop-surrealism but finds that her art style is constantly evolving. the creative process in this light.
“My philosophy is to paint whatever inspires me at the moment and to continue to try new things and challenge myself as an artist and as a person. Art is a way for me to heal and to grow and I create best when I view the creative process in this light.”
