“Two things have always dominated my life - a love of the outdoors and passion to create. I grew up in rural Long Island, New York, exploring the surrounding woodlands and developing a curiosity for the natural world. That curiosity stuck with me as I grew older and eventually led to college degrees in biology and the marine sciences.”
“After college I spent a brief time as a technical illustrator but still longed for the outdoors and for more freedom to create. A move to Florida in search of employment in the marine sciences led to a chance and very serendipitous meeting, providing me with the opportunity of a lifetime. I was offered a position as Designer and Head Gardener of a large country estate in north central Florida. There, I was fortunate enough to be able to combine my love of nature with my passion to create, and design gardens for the next thirty-two years. After retirement I returned to the fine arts, continuing my passion to create.”
“My range of subjects is varied, from natural and manmade landscapes, botanical and floral subjects, to personal portraits and wildlife. My style is one of detail and realism, no matter the subject matter, and I find that graphite, colored pencil, pastel and even watercolor allow me to express that detail in my paintings.”
